A math formula is behind it all believe it or not, and it looks a little like this: a*10 + b - (a + b)
ex. - a = 4 b = 6
4*10 + 6 - (4 + 6)
40 + 6 - 10 = 36
Now if you try a few different numbers you will notice a pattern, the answers a always multiples of 9. If you try the mind reader a few times you will also notice that all the multibles of nine have the same symbols, execept 90 and 99. Because this formula only works on two-digit numbers it is impossible to get 90 and 99 to come of the formula, just a little twist thrown in. Pretty cool, eh?
